Tony Schwartz - Sounds of My City (1956) / A Dog's Life (1958)

Here comes a pair of docu-collages that sound wizard Tony Schwartz dished to Folkways in the latter half of the 1950s.

The first is Sounds of My City, one of Schwartz's many aural journeys into New York. He made his home in the last place an agoraphobic would find comfort and mined its nooks and crannies for all they were worth.

Additionally, there's the darling A Dog's Life, 7 dog years condensed into 24 people minutes. Schwartz crafted the recording from several hours of tapes following his wire haired fox terrier Tina, complete with play-by-play commentary.
