V/A - Siemens-Studio Für Elektronische Musik (Siemens Kulturprogramm, 1998)

The Siemens corporation offers an in depth look at the Siemens-Studio Für Elektronische Musik, a hotbed of early electronic activity in Munich, Germany. The collection is curated by madcap sound researcher Josef Anton Riedl and covers a remarkably wide range of activity. As is to be expected, comes heavy on Riedl's expert tape manipulation, but also offers up some early electro-acoustic excursions for Mauricio Kagel and some fine sound-poetry extrapolations from Ferdinand Kriwet and Paul Pörtner. Included are scans of the liners, although they've served little good to a German illiterate such as myself. Plenty of pretty pictures.
