Else Marie Pade - Et Glasperlespil (Dacapo, 2001)

Quite a curious one here. Else Marie Pade was born in Denmark in 1924 and took part in the Danish resistance movement during WWII. She studied piano at the Royal Conservatory of Music and, having heard the works of Pierre Schaeffer, traveled to Paris to learn the ins and outs of the electronic studio. She returned to Denmark and with the help of Danish Radio, developed a catalog of incredible electronic work. Et Glasperlespil covers much of her work at the Danish Radio Lab from 1958 to 1964. Included is "Syv Circler", which, having been produced in 1958, is the first piece of Danish electronic music.

  1. Thanks for posting this. Didn't know Pade before. It's absolutely great what she has been doing. But track 7 of your upload is broken/incomplete. It ends after 3:14 minutes (instead of 8:29). Any chance to fix and re-upload it?
